Webinar – Irish Peatland Archaeology Across Time

In conjunction with The Irish Peatland Archaeology Across Time (IPeAAT) project, this webinar, taking place a 7:30pm on 26 October, will provide an informative talk and discussion on peatland archaeology.

Claire Nolan and Ben Gearey will talk about the work of the IPeAAT project to date, some of the amazing finds and sites that have been discovered in Irish raised bogs and what they can tell us about these unique environments and the past communities who interacted with them.

The discussion will look at the role of contemporary communities in relation to peatland archaeology; how groups might explore and find out more about their own local sites, and how they can support archaeological conservation during peatland restoration. As part of IPeAAT’s research on public engagement and archaeology, attendees will also be invited to complete an optional survey at the end of the event on their thoughts about peatland archaeology in Ireland.
