Community Wetlands Skill Share workshop & study visit Kiltimagh

The Community Wetlands Forum is excited to announce an upcoming skill-share workshop and study trip on community-led wetland restoration in conjunction with Kiltimagh Amenity Park. The event will take place on 18 November at 11am, at Kiltimagh Museum, Co. Mayo. It will showcase community led wetland restoration projects across Mayo and further afield. Everyone is welcome to come and hear how communities are taking action to restore wetlands and create amenities such as walkways and educational spaces that connect communities with nature!

This free workshop will be a fantastic learning and networking opportunity for anyone interested in the preservation and restoration of wetlands and peatlands. After the workshop, there will be a tour of Kiltimagh Amenity Park, to see the incredible community-led restoration efforts taking place there, where the community has led a wetland restoration project, which combines ecosystem restoration with the development of a walkway, signage and an outdoor classroom. There will also be an optional visit to a local peatland for a demonstration of peatland restoration. The event, including the walk and demonstration, will run until approximately 3pm.
