Call for participants: Storytelling through photography

April 1 @ 08:00 - April 4 @ 17:00

Connecting Communities with Peatlands is looking for community leaders of groups who have engaged with the Connecting Communities with Peatlands project to tell the story of their community connections to their local bog through photography and storytelling with the support of visual artist Annie Holland.

Holland, in collaboration with community groups across eight Midland counties (Kildare, Laois, Offaly, Westmeath, Longford, Roscommon, East Galway, North Tipperary), is embarking on a participatory photography project focusing on the involvement of community leaders in peatland projects. Through participant-led photography, she will help groups to capture the stories of individuals connected to their local bogs, detailing their involvement, motivations, and future aspirations.

The project will culminate in a digital publication featuring both photos and narratives, accompanied by a video to be screened at the project showcase. This initiative seeks to celebrate community engagement with peatlands and share their diverse experiences with a wider audience.

This project is taking place throughout the month of April. Annie Holland will travel to your location on a day that suits you. If you are interested please don’t hesitate to get in touch with project coordinator Aoife Kirk on 0876421279.
