Study visit and skill share at Killyconny Bog

September 28, 2023 @ 08:00 - 17:00

Come along to our study trip and skill share event on 28 September to learn about the restoration works at Killyconny Bog and the community’s role in galvanising efforts and raising awareness of the importance of the bog.

Beginning at St. Killian’s Heritage Centre, Mullagh, Co. Cavan, A82 HW77 at 10:30am, we will hear from members of the Killyconny Bog Committee on their activities, and other members of the Community Wetlands Forum who will share their learnings on managing a community led peatland restoration project and the citizen science work.

Come along and be inspired and learn about why Killyconny Bog is one of the most important raised bogs in Ireland. Meet like minded people and hear from the National Parks and Wildlife Service who play a key role in protecting and managing Ireland’s peatlands and natural environment.

Dress appropriately (boots, waterproofs) for a trip to the bog along bog roads.

Refreshments will be served.
