Celebrate World Wetlands Day at Shannon Town Wetlands

The Shannon Town Community Wetlands project and the Local Authority Waters Programme (LAWPRO) invite you to a lunchtime event to Celebrate World Wetlands Day on 2^nd February 2023

World Wetlands Day (which falls on 2^nd February 2023) is a global event which is celebrated around the world with thousands of events taking place to mark the day.

The theme for this year’s World Wetlands Day is ‘It’s Time For Wetland Restoration’ and the Shannon Town Community Wetlands project is a great example of this.

The lunchtime event in Shannon Town will examine practical wetlands restoration in an urban context and will explore the importance of wetlands and the role they play in supporting biodiversity and addressing climate change.

The event will be family friendly and suitable for children and people of all ages. So why not bring along your lunch and have it on site as part of a walk and talk on site
