The 2025 Community Wetlands Forum Networking Workshop & AGM is almost here! It is a key event on our calendar, allowing members the opportunity to gather for a chat to share what they’ve been up to while learning something new. We’re excited to announce that this year’s event will feature three sessions on citizen science, community group risk management, and the planning system.

  • Dr Liam Lysaght: The role of Community Groups in Citizen Science and Nature Restoration. Liam Lysaght is CEO of the National Biodiversity Data Centre, and is an active recorder with a particular interest in butterflies, birds and mammals. He also serves as Chair of the Global Biodiversity Information Facility (GBIF).

After lunch, we will host the Community Wetlands Forum Annual General Meeting for member groups. Eugene Dunbar from Everything Tyrrellspass Has On Show will then guide us to Cloncrow Bog’s boardwalk to learn about restoration work on the site and educational initiatives with local schools. We’ll hear about all that ETHOS has achieved since the publication of Cloncrow Bog’s factsheet in 2023.
