Bumblebees & Bogs for Beginners

May 24 @ 14:00 - 16:00
Free

Take a family-friendly stroll along Girley Bog’s short 1.2km loop trail starting at Drewstown Car Park and learn about the natural history of raised bogs and the flora and fauna found in these special habitats.

Facilitated by Meath County Council’s Biodiversity Officer, there will be particular attention given to the citizen science activities that are to be encouraged in places like Girley Bog, whereby members of the public are encouraged to observe and record wildlife in order to build our knowledge on Ireland’s biodiversity.

Participants are advised that the trail and boardwalk is uneven and may be slippy in certain weather conditions. All participants are recommended to wear suitable sturdy footwear and appropriate outdoor clothing.
