Shanakyle Bog Walk

Join us on Shanakyle Bog at Parteen, Co. Clare to celebrate National Biodiversity Week! Get ready to explore the beautiful surroundings and learn about the unique flora and fauna of the bog. Clare County Council’s Biodiversity Officer Barry O’Loughlin and Catherine Ní Ciardha of Shanakyle Bog Restoration Group will deliver a talk on ecological changes that have happened since the bog was rewetted in 2021, the management of a wildflower meadow, pond vegetation establishment, bird and bat box installation and wildlife on the bog.
